Volunteering Opportunities.
The Steveston Salmon Festival relies on the dedicated efforts of hundreds of volunteers. From the core planning committee which starts work on the next year Festival in September, to the days leading up to and on Festival day and the myriad of work to be done to keep the Festival going, there are lots of jobs for everyone! We have positions in administration, bike parade, concession, entertainment, grounds, parking, craft fair, trade show, youth rockfest, pre and post Festival set-up and take-down and more!
Become a Volunteer.
Do you have any special skills you would like to share, or are you looking to gain valuable experience? If you are interested in joining our volunteer team, please submit a Volunteer Application and we will contact you for an interview. Some jobs require they be done by adults, others are suitable for all ages. All participants will be required to sign a code of conduct agreement and emergency contact form, and some may be asked to agree to a RCMP criminal record check depending on which area of the Festival you are working at. Participants under the age of 19 will be required to submit a parental consent form before the Festival. Training and orientation sessions will be offered prior to the Festival as well.

Environment Committee.
The Steveston Community Society Environment Committee is committed to protecting the environment around the community centre. To this end, they have ensured that our Salmon Bake is served on environmentally friendly dishes which are washed and rotated throughout the day. $1 per plate at the Salmon Bake is refunded when you return your plate to the environment committee. If you are interested in joining the Environment Committee, please submit a Volunteer Application and indicate your interest.
