Steveston Village on Canada Day
Steveston Village is a charming riverside community founded on the fishing industry. From the historic Gulf of Georgia Cannery to the Britannia Heritage Shipyards, there is much to see and do throughout the village. Drop by the museum, located in the post office on Moncton Street, and purchase a walking tour guide so you don't miss any part of the village. Moncton Street is closed to vehicle traffic for the day, so people can enjoy the street-fair atmosphere which follows the parade at noon. Terrific sales, fabulous treats and eats, fish sales on the pier, rich heritage and culture, and, of course, the Salmon Festival at the community centre. What more do you need? For further details on the attractions, shops, restaurants and places to stay, we encourage you to visit Tourism Richmond web site.
